Re: Serial Port Expansion VIA PCMCIA card
Dom, I use their PCI equivlent in desk tops without any problems. I've also used USB to RS232 DB9 adaptors without issues, but they can be a little tricky. I can't say I've used PCMCIA cards for I/O but I don't see why that would be a problem other then price. I currently use two dual PCI RS232 DB9 ...

I thought just like you when I first setup my remote. I pulled my hair out trying to figure out what the heck I was doing. There are situations where you want that one button on the remote to send out several commands in a row. For example, if you were setting up a channel macro , like channel numbe...

Please pardon me if I misread your post, but after reading it several times I get the feeling that if you installed a word processor on you computer, you would expect to hammer in a couple ideas on the keyboard, hit return, and get a novel. That said... Yes, you are correct. It takes all that you wr...

trouble making a transparent backgroung for a round button
I found some round button images that I would like to edit for use in a HouseBot theme. I've searched the forum over and over for an answer but can only get some of the info I need. I found Scott's ImageDup utility and figured out how to make that work, except the transparency part.(Thanks Scott, Th...

Richard, I just figured that out. I actually got it to run and duplicate some buttons just now. I haven't been able to force transparency, but maybe with time I will stumble on how to do that as well. I haven't done ahything in DOS for years(very clumsy at it). Thank you very much for your quick rep...

Housebot crashes after installing it on a new editing PC
I bought a new XP Pro PC and I will use it as my editing PC for Housebot software remote. I installed Housebot and USB UIRT and the associated drivers and plug-ins. If I stay in the editor and test the USB UIRT device, I can send IR signals all day long but if I start the local software remote and t...

Thanks Richard, You are correct of course. I was more concerned about the stability of the program as a whole on my machine. The HouseBot program has been the most wonderful, taylorable, software I've ever used. It truly is Genius! The remote control I use with it has evolved over a long period of t...

Where did "Send IR Command" go?
When I went into the property manager, "Send IR Command" is no longer on the list. If I try to add it again the "Not Unique" message box appears. All my IR commands work through the USB-UIRT. WTF?
Any ideas???
