Re: Two time and timer requests
That is an odd one. Can you get around it if you use your external IP with a port and then port forward back to the machine in the router.Steve Horn wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2017 1:09 pm ...one of Avast's security things disallows the accessing of web pages within the LAN (presumably everything running behind the router.

Re: Two time and timer requests
Steve, Here's a config import that has a sample script that will do time/date conversions in VB into the proper format for a HouseBot Time/Date Property. It doesn't do seconds, but it's a pretty simple modification to include seconds. "Pause" would be a nice addition. I would probably have...

Steve,
Are you referring to the edit field outlined here? If so, have you changed the size of text setting in Windows?

Re: Pissed as h*ll
A few questions for you. ...interface shows up but controls nothing! Can't even control through main interface. Do you mean that you can't control anything from the main HouseBot interface, or from a software remote? Unable to logon Software Remote API version 7. Server only accepts version 8. Which...

Re: MQTT support
It looks like it's still just a lot of low-level stuff at this point, but it could be interesting.

Re: HouseBot and Amazon Echo
That's good news! FYI, you don't have to wait an entire day to add back the devices. You can just press the DISCOVER button in the smart home section of the alexa app and it will query your HouseBot instance to get the current list. When you find the name that is causing the problem, please let me k...

Re: HouseBot and Amazon Echo
I can see the discover request from your alexa and it is returning a list of devices (not sure what data, since that isn't logged). It could be that you have a device or mode with an odd name (odd character or something) that is causing this. I saw something similar during development of the skill. ...

Re: HouseBot and Amazon Echo
Make sure you have some devices setup for voice control. In version 3.42, go to the main menu / Settings / Voice Service Setup... Make sure the devices you want available through Alexa are configured with the correct 'Type' and property mappings.

Re: Windows 10 problems
Awesome! I think if you're happy with it now, I'm happy with it. If I had an idea of what to try next, maybe I'd want to try and resolve this fully, but I don't.
Just glad you got it working.

Re: Windows 10 problems
Lots of great info, thanks. I forget about HouseBot hanging, so my advice that you just need to re-enable the hardware interface to get the new registry settings was probably not accurate. I'm guessing it's hanging in the OS kernel or driver somewhere, since it never really goes into a read/write lo...
