z-wave polling issues
Jay, I've had similar polling issues as you describe. Although I do not yet have as many z-wave switches as you do (I only have about 6 installed at the moment), I find that after housebot has been started, it stops all polling after a certain period of time (usually around 1/2 hour or so.. sometime...

looked at that...
I did look at the interface trace logs -- it didn't really shed much light on the issue. The polling eventually just stops. I'm convinced it is a hardware issue with the USB z-wave interface. I've read several cases where people have similar problems with this interface in general.

same here..
My experience is the same as Scottbot... I find the response time very fast for turning lights on or off.. Even with many devices in a room, etc. My only problem remains the USB interface itself hanging after an hour or two.. I had to setup an automatic script to restart housebot every hour so that ...

too bad.. kluge solution in the works..
That's too bad. I've come to a non-ideal solution for the interim. By ensuring the latest drivers and a standalone USB pci card, I am able to get housebot properly polling all z-wave switches for a couple hours before the ACT z-wave controller hangs up the polling process. What I've done is automate...

Serial Z-wave controller support
I would like to request a plugin for the serial version of the Z-wave controller in addition to the USB controller version. Many people have reported all sorts of issues for the USB version of the controller -- however the serial version appears to be much more solid without the same sorts of strang...

zwave serial controller
Hi, I haven't been able to fully resolve my issues when using the ACT z-wave USB controller. I have read on many other forums that people have all sorts of problems with this controller which seem to disappear when a controller with a RS232 serial interface is used. Will housebot work ok with the z-...

hardware problem
i believe i have finally figured out the problem -- it appears to be an imcompatibility between my intermatic primary controller and the homepro usb controller (secondary)... after deleting nodes and changing them around -- i found that when settings are copied from the intermatic to the homepro usb...

still an issue....
I replaced my old drivers with the latest one and I'm still having the polling problem... Perhaps it is some kind of hardware issue.. I think I will remove a bunch of the nodes and try each node one at a time to see whether the problem still happens or not...

thanks!
Excellent -- I just found this a couple days ago as well. I'm thinking this could solve the problem since the drivers I was using were very, very old!.. I'll post back to report how it went once I'm back home -- still on Christmas vacation at the moment!
Thanks again,
Wes

homepro z-wave usb driver
Does anyone know the intended version of the usb driver that housebot should be using for the homepro z-wave usb interface? I'm thinking my polling issue could be related to this. Either that or it is a housebot issue, but other people have reported success with polling. My polling works fine when h...

Thanks for the suggestion. It appears that when I first start housebot, everything is fine. Below is an example of the output I get. I see polling occuring as would be expected. After about 15 mins or so, it just stops polling all together. If you try to manually check by setting get state to yes, i...

still having the problem
Actually the problem still occurs even with my Girder stuff disabled. So I'm back where I started.

interesting...
I seem to have narrowed down this problem. I am using Girder to manipulate a few properties of one of the devices (not any of the z-wave stuff). Girder updates these fields on a regular timed interval. If I disable this update process in Girder, the problem seems to go away. Can girder interfere wit...

z-wave polling issue
Hi, Having a small issue here -- wondering if anyone else has bumped in to this problem. When I first boot housebot, it polls and updates the status of the lights properly (my polling is set to 10 seconds). It continues to poll properly for a while, but after housebot is running for a few minutes, i...

Honeywell T8635L thermostat
Hi, I'm running a T8635L thermostat with the W8735A RS232 serial control interface, and I would like to control it via HouseBot. Just wondering if anyone has started work on a module at all for this particular thermostat? I don't want to duplicate anyone's work if someone has already started somethi...
