spoke to soon
I just deleted two lines from the “Devices” section in the HBData.mdb file (for voice control and external control) and I don't get any more errors while loading. With the exception of a separate issue that I had already spoken to Scott about, I think 2.3 is now running perfectly. Thanks for the hel...

Yes, I completely deleted the Housebot directory. The HBData.backup file was copied to another location and then used to restore my settings after the clean install without all the extra plugins. Should I have done it in a different way?

good so far
After backing up my settings, I did a clean install of 2.3 with ONLY the W800 and PowerLinc plug-ins installed. It's been running just fine for about 9 hours now, so I hope that did it. Thanks for the suggestions. I’ll post again if things go south. However, I am now getting two error messages (in t...

plugins
I'm at work instead of home, so this is off the top of my head, I might butcher some terms. I do use several vbScripts. That was my first thought as well, but I disabled those and the same thing happens. As for the motion sensor interface I have a RF800WS RF interface that plugs into the RS232 port....

theme editor
Hmmm... I've never been in the theme editor. My setup is all automated with motion sensors, so I don't have any sort of special interface. It just runs minimized. The strangest part is that it worked fine when I initially upgraded to the current version, and now it doesn’t. I'll keep playing with it...

HousebotServer.exe bringing computer to a crawl
This is strange. For some reason about a week ago HousebotServer.exe has started bringing my computer to a crawl. Essentially, it will load and run ok for about 10 minutes (variable) and then its CPU usage will go to 99%. I've tried un-enabling different tasks and devices, but it doesn’t seem to mak...

When will next release of Housebot be from 3/2?
I noticed this same poll over in the Essentials forum, and I thought it woul dbe interesting to see what kind of response the same poll would get in the Housbot forum. :-) Anticipating a possible response, I've added a few choices beyond the original five.

Registration problem
I'm looking for some help with registering Housebot. A few weeks ago when Housebot was on sale I purchased a license to replace the current one (inherited from someone else). However, I can't figure out how to update the license information. I tried the instructions in the e-mail... ----------------...

Comparing two properties
This seems like an easy question, but I can’t find the answer in the help files or the forums. Here’s the setup: I have a device with two User Defined Alphanumeric properties. Each Alphanumeric property has a numerical value of “XX.XX”. What I want to do is have a task that compares value A to value...

works like a charm
Works like a charm. Complicated enough to allow total customization, yet simple enough for the layman (me) to figure it out. It took about an hour of playing around, but now it’s monitoring all four of the stocks (actually mutual funds) that I want it to watch. Now I just need to wait for the lights...

fantastic
Thanks Spike,
That was crazy fast. Your help is appreciated, and take your time I’m not in a hurry. Now that I know it’s possible, I need to order the LED lights. Were you going to post it here somewhere? Or did you want my e-mail address?

Good to hear
It’s good to hear that it will be possible. However, I’m a bit apprehensive regarding the fact that I need to learn VBScript to do it. Ugh. I Google’d and found this page… http://www.4guysfromrolla.com/webtech/081199-2.shtml … is that along the right lines? Or is that steering me down a dead end? Th...

Stock (variable) Question
Here’s what I would like to do, I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to make this possible. I’d like Housebot to actively (maybe once per hour) monitor four different stocks, and then send on/off commands to four different LED lights based on if the particular stock is currently going up or down....
