Thanks

I agree. I hope to see HouseBot become a much more widely used product like HomeSeer one day. I have to admit that I hate losing the software remote capability. That was the one feature (in additional to all the work I put into setting up HouseBot) that didn't make for an easy decision.

good luck to HouseBot users and ScottBot

I felt compelled to write this message since I've gotten asssistance from many on this forum with my HouseBot project. I've been running HouseBot for about 6 or 7 months now but recently I decided to take a look at the HomeSeer trial. After duplicating a good part of my HouseBot configuration in Hom...

These devices look like the perfect software remote. At least for my needs they look perfect. Well, except for one thing, the price. :( When they cut the price in half I might be buying. :D

BTW, for anybody that happens to read this message thread and you are thinking about upgrading your old CM11A controller to a PowerLinc USB V2 controller, my opinion is you will not be dissapointed and it's worth the money. I've had my CM11A for years, but after initially trying to get it working pr...

At some point, I'd like to develop a native Hardware Interface for the PowerLinc2 (one that doesn't use the SDM control) to possibly improve performance still more. That gets my vote. :) Native support would be nice. One less thing in the mix is always better for performance and reliability. Howeve...

BTW

WOW, I can't believe how much faster the PowerLinc USB sends commands compared to the old CM11A! :)

I realized I installed an older version of the SDM software (SDM2). I uninstalled it and installed SDM3 and now it's working in Housebot. I'm thinking something in the registry must not have been set correctly due to the older SDM2 being installed.

I created an insteon directory under interfaces and moved the maps directory under the insteon directory. Still no luck.

Yes, I'm using the beta plugin I didn't install any Smarthome software at first. I just upgraded to the latest version of Housebot and installed the beta plugin. When things didn't work, that's when I decided to install the Smarthome software to see if it would work. I can control X10 modules using ...

PLC error with USB PowerLinc V2

I'm trying to set up a PowerLinc V2 (replacing my old X10 serial controller). I can use the Smarthome Timer software to set up an X10 device and control it without a problem. However, when I try to use the PowerLinc USB V2 plugin (latest version) for HouseBot (latest version - in c:\program files\ho...

Wow, it's a regular flurry of activity. :) Looks good. I still say for my purposes (at least for now) I'm not looking to integrate with Outlook. But, the more info available on this forum the better. I believe a number of people are probably working on HB projects and not really contributing much on...

I agree, nothing is happening on the Meedio end (at least not that we are aware of). But, there are certainly users actively working on their home automation projects with HB. I just couldn't help but notice my post on Monday afternoon was the last post until I posted this message thread last night.

I'm being facetious. The tumbleweed reference is a comment regarding the lack of activity on this forum. It's funny, you will have days of many new posts and then multiple days go by with nothing. I'm justing stirring the pot hoping to get some activity. I've already posted quite a few legitimate HB...
