Insteon Linking and PLC vs PLM
Hi, I've used Insteon for years with the USB PLC. I've never been able to get linking to work. Each switch appears to link with the PLC (correct light flashing, etc), but the PLC doesn't appear to tell Housebot and the status never changes for the HB device. I assume others have this working? More t...

Re: HTML5 iPhone/Android access tips
Hi Terry, thanks for providing this example. I'm playing with a login page that validates against my home Linux server based LDAP, but other than that I've followed your config and it works great. Are you still finding success with this approach? Have you been able to develop the displays that you w...

IR and WMC
Hi, I've created a Windows Media Center server with an AVS Gear Windows MCE IR Remote. I've created several IR remotes in HB in the past, so I thought integrating this with HB would be easy. After creating the IR remote in HB, I've noticed that I can only get one command of any single type in row to...

Re: Touchatag integration with Housebot?
Hi Wetwired, I'm planning to write an interface to TouchATag as well, although I'm not exactly sure why yet - just seems like a cool thing to get working. Did you buy the SDK Part # ACR122U from ACS to develop the interface? Any gotchas you'd be willing to point out before I get started? Thanks, Bryan

Re: Controls and background colors
Thanks Scott. I implemented the dynamic image approach, which correctly displays the color of the underlying image (initially green) as the background of the property label, when the label is marked "transparent background". However, when the image changes, say from green to blue, the back...

Controls and background colors
Hi, I have a question related to controls. I have an indicator with two states and correspondingly, two colors. On top of this indicator, I have a property label. I'd like the background of the property label to be the color of whatever state the indicator is in (green/blue). However, when I place t...
IR Error
Hi, I've developed an error related to IR mappings. Several IR Code/Property Value pair mappings were mysteriously dropped (property values show code 'none', when once they were mapped correctly). When I attempt to map them again, I get Error: Unable to insert record into PropertyValueIR Map I can't...

Re: Text to speech?
I was wondering about something like this as well. I'd like to be able to output speech/voice to one sound card and music, via HB/winamp, to another (probably the default). The goal I have is to establish a management channel with strategically located speakers, separate from home entertainment (whe...

Re: SWRemote Incomplete Updates
It's definitely a memory problem. I found a previously overlooked memory control in the control panel that when tweeked to optimize program memory, improved the situation. Looks like I'm going to start simplifying graphics...

SWRemote Incomplete Updates
Hi, I'm running a SW remote on this device http://www.advantech.com/products/70-In-Wall-Touch-Panel/mod_1-2JKQ2S.aspx OS Windows CE 5.0 As I navigate through various screens in my theme, I see graphics errors. For example, a background image doesn't load and the background appears white (or black), ...

Export/Inport Problems
I'm having a problem creating exports and successfully importing. I create the export, drop it onto the housebot icon of the destination system, it goes through the process of reading the file, and reports a restart is necessary. However, when I restart, I don't get a prompt asking me if I want to c...

Re: Task/Script Awareness of SWRemote status
I agree. I see that status reflected in the SWRemote section of the server displays so it obviously "knows", but I understand that that status isn't accessible. If you think about adding it, thinking about exactly when you declare the remote connected will be critical as in my situation ab...

Task/Script Awareness of SWRemote status
Hi, Is it possible to affect server operation, e.g., change device properties, task execution, etc, based on swremote connection status? I have a timer that controls a sequence of popups that I only want activated if a specific swremote is connected. In case the answer is "no", here's a li...

Re: Panel open style using scripts
Thanks for the update Scott. Can I push for your thoughts related to whether this feels like a 3.x capability? Or will it need to wait until a new major release?
