Re: UPB support?

Thanks Richard. The reason I have leaned toward Z-Wave is to get away from the power line. The only thing that has given me second thoughts is that Z-Wave seems to have plateaued, with not much happening. We live in a world where you either move forward, or you fail. There is no standing still. I gu...

Re: UPB support?

My interest has been in Z-Wave, but there is so little happening with it, I'm beginning to wonder if it has a future. As a result, I began taking at least a passing glance at UPB, but if Housebot doesn't support it, that sort of puts a damper on that. I have a lot of trouble getting any interest up ...

UPB support?

Am I reading the hardware list correctly and there is no UPB support with Housebot. I certainly capable of overlooking the obvious?

Re: Housebot with Lutron RA2????

Always good to read your thoughts Terry. The house is existing. Actually, I only lease it, but I've been here 15 years and will probably be here another 15 (very favorable lease). I have permission to do anything I want with the house. Hence, hardwired is not an option. When I built my home theater ...

Re: Housebot with Lutron RA2????

Thanks for your thoughts and offer yaccri. The more I read and study Lutron RA2, I am thinking it's not the best area I should get into. I should probably stick with Z-Wave.

Lutron doesn't encourage DIY with the RA2, which makes a complex system even more difficult to deal with.

Re: Housebot with Lutron RA2????

Thanks for the offer. I don't have Lutron yet, I'm trying to decide what to use, Z-Wave or possibly RA2. I'm learning. My reason for raising this question is that if I use Housebot and it doesn't support RA2, that sort of seals the deal. I don't even know what I would need at this point to go RA2. D...

Re: Ocelot Secu 16i/Secu16 I/O states

As a person following this forum closely in preparation for going with HouseBot as my software, and using an Ocelot, I have to wonder why a question like this has gone unanswered, and will I experience the same problem getting help? I'm just wondering.

iPad app for Homeseer. Will HouseBot do the same thing?

I'm not technically far enough along to understand this, but will something like this app be developable for HouseBot? Or are the technologies too different?

Re: Will the iPad have any application as a couch tablet?

Terry, I believe you've posted over on Cocoontech as being interested in the used touch screens. What is your thinking on those relative to Housebot. At the price he's asking, it's not very risky. Are you thinking they will work? Maybe I should ask that a different way. Are you thinking they will wo...

Re: Will the iPad have any application as a couch tablet?

I agree, if Apple does nothing but stir up development in the marketplace, it will be worthwhile.

My problem is that I'm not knowledgeable enough to make judgments, only to ask a few shallow questions. I have to watch you smart guys to learn what to do.

Re: Will the iPad have any application as a couch tablet?

There are so many tablets coming out in 2010, it's probably going to be prudent to wait until the dust settles a bit before investing very much.

Re: Will the iPad have any application as a couch tablet?

I don't have an opinion of the Apple store, one way or another. I just wonder if someone like Scott would have to run an app through the Apple store, and would he want to. Same for other companies. Would they want to, or would they just sit it out leaving us having to go some other route for a couch...

Re: Will the iPad have any application as a couch tablet?

I read somewhere that only apps approved by Apple and downloaded from the Apple store will run on it. I'm not knowledgeable enough to know exactly what that means, if true, but it sounds like a deal killer.
