Which approach to use for new hardware
Hi, I've just taken the plunge and ordered a TR60 RS485 Thermostat form the US (I'm in the UK). Whlie its in transit I want to start on the interface to Housebot. I was hoping someone could give me some advice on which approach to use? I'm going to use an RS232 converter so it will be an RS232 inter...

UK housebot compatible thermostat
Hi,
Are there any thermostats I can buy in the Uk that will work with Housebot apart from the Digimax 210, which Isn't doing the job for me!
What are people using? Any protocol!
Thanks,
Z

Re: New X-10, Old X-10, Insteon and Z-Wave ??????
Hi,
I know this is an old thread but I'd like to give a vote for the new X10. I've run it for 2 years and never had any issues. It does 2-way comms so I think it must have come a long way since the original systems.

X10 DIN RAIL vs X10 Inline
Hi there, I've got a few DIN RAIL X10 LD11 units running some lighting in my living room and dining room. We're about to re-wire the rest of the house and I can't decide whether to go for more X10 DIN RAIL units or use the new "inline" modules which sit inside the light switches. The DIN R...

Re: Housebot not working on WHS 2011

If there are, send the latest to me at support at housebot.com I checked it, but there is no file int the Program Files (x86)\HouseBot\dump directory. Fresh Start with Heating Controls
Hi there, We're about to replace our ageing boiler with a brand new Worcester unit. As a result I can start again with the automated heating controls. I've studied the Worcester documentation a little and it seems that interfacing to them without using their propietary thermostats. Also I'm thinking...

Housebot not working on WHS 2011
Hi all, I've got an HP Proliant Microserver (Dual core 1.3ghz, 4GB RAM) running Windows Home Server 2011 64-bit. I installed housebot (I used the "troubleshoot compatability" option first before installing) but it won't start up. The process appears briefly in Task Manager but then dissape...

Re: UK Modem with Caller Display (USB)?
In case anyone else ever wonders the same thing, I managed to pick up a Conexant Modem (brand new) on ebay for £5.99. With a little playing around (with the modem initialisation string) I got it to work with Housebot. Bargain!!

UK Modem with Caller Display (USB)?
Hi there,
Do most onboard motherboard modems support caller display?
If not, can someone please recommend me a USB voice modem with caller display that I can run with Housebot?
Thanks,
Scott

Re: Control Home Via Email or SMS for Dummies
Hi,
Sorry for my naive question, but where is the 'SMS' bit here? I've read the instructions and it seems to be a way to control HB though email, but how do I do it through SMS?
Thanks,
Scott
