HouseBot

I'm trying to send a serial string to a device that requires a Hex Wrapper with ASCII string for the data.



The Start, Length, Command, ID, Protocol, and CRC are all Hex commands. The Data is ASCII.



I see that you can either do ASCII or HEX not a mix of both.

Ideas?

Thats not encouraging. Prior to finding housebot I was watching the Misterhouse progress. I'm looking to create a home server that uses Sage TV for tivo functionality, MYHTPC for a front end, and HouseBot for lighting and AV control. I have an old 3Com Audrey that I would like to use with HouseBot. I was wondering if anyone had a creative way of incorporating it. It is on my network via an ethernet adapter.



One way may be via a webpage served out by HouseBot.

Thoughts?
