Can HouseBot do this??

Hay all

My phone plug is on the other side of the room and @ the moment I have to run a phone cord half way round my unit for my DSL, so what I had an idea of doing was set up a computer next to the plug, with a modem and my DSL modem and turn it in to a wireless gateway/ answering machine. There are three other computers in my house (my gaming rig, my partner’s laptop and the media station). Is there a way to set up HouseBot to do the answering machine side of things? Also is there any way to serve caller ID out to each machine, maybe even take calls (e.g. sitting out on the veranda with the notebook, caller ID comes up saying you have a call and to save you from running for the phone, just click answer and take it from there).

HouseBot can't record audio from the phone line, at least not without using some type of plugin or external application. It can broadcast caller ID info to remote machines though.

You would just run a software remote on each of the PCs where you want caller ID notification. You can even keep the software remotes minimized and have a task on the server automatically restore them when a call comes in.

Ok great, having caller ID on the media station was my main thing so thanks for answering that. I was also wondering if it would be possible to use a separate answering, can two programs control the modem @ once.

Also I know this is not the proper place to ask thing but will Meedio TV support BDA drivers?? As I said I know this isn’t the proper place so ill understand if you don’t answer
