Hi all,
I own a webpad that's running Win CE 4.1 (it is a Simpad =).
I installed Housebot on my PC but I did not find out how to
install it on my webpad. Where is that option located ?
I'm quite new to this and quite lost =(
Help, plz !!! Thx, Cesto
Housebot on Win CE
Cesto,
Welcome to HouseBot.
HouseBot itself (the server) won't run on Win CE. However, I'm guessing that you are actually trying to install one of the Software Remotes to the Simpad. If that's the case, you have to manually copy the Software Remotes (SWRemote.exe) to the WinCE machine. The Software Remote applications can be found in the \HouseBot\Clients directory. They are split up into different OS platforms and then into different CPUs. I'm not sure what your SimPad will use, so you many need to try a few to find it. I remember that there was an issue that required the SWRemote to use some additional 3rd party files to run on an older version of the SimPad. I don't know if that's still the case.
You may need to run the setup program again to make sure that all of the different Software Remote platforms are installed. By default, they are not all installed.

I used to have a Simpad and it ran the Pocket PC software remote great. You will just need to download the fakedlls package and copy the files to the \windows directory on your simpad.
Error message
Hi again,
Thanx four your replies. Knowing that Housebot does run on this machine
is a great support for me ! =)
Ok, so I followed your directions and now I can lauch the "Sample Theme"
on the Simpad. It seems to be running well, except for transparent images
(which are not transparent =).
I'll keep you updated on my progress =)
Thanx again, l8er, Cesto

Good to hear you got the Sample Theme running. It sounds like you're off into the joys of configuring the system and building Themes.
Semi-transparent images are only supported on true Win32 platforms, not CE. You can get some transparency working by using the transparent color masks used in some of the controls.

Meedio remote
Hi all,
I'm into the joys of configuring the system and building Themes for quite
a long time now, owning a Pronto for a few years already =)
I found on this forum the winamp remote which does also work great. I did
not try to "tune it" yet, though. But I think it is going to be a good starting
point !
What about a meedio remote ? Does something like this exist already, that I
could use as a starting point to make my own ?
Thanx in advance, Cesto

There is one in development (see http://meedio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=147673#147673) that was shown working at CES. We have not yet announced a release date for it though.
