HAI OmniStat

Heya Folks.

Well, I just scooped up a bunch of HAI Communicating thermostats off of good ol ebay.

I would love full control of these units (Zoned) through Housebot. They do have serial control.

I do have the communications protocol sheet if anyone needs it.

Scott: Maybe we can work some sort of deal to get a DSC security plugin and a HAI thermostat plugin working. I Have an extra DSC thermostat, or maybe one of my HAI ones?????

Support for HAI is currently under development by another HouseBot user. There are still a few issues that are being resolved before he plans on making it publicly available, but I think it's getting close.

I saw that people were looking into HAI control. I thought that was just for the OMNI controllers though. I only require Thermostat control. Do you know if there is just thermostat control in this development?

I really don't know that much about the systems, so I probably misspoke. I believe that the plugins are for the Omni system. If there's some way to communicate with the thermostat directly, it may not support that.

Yes. The thermostats support direct rs232 communication. This way they can be used with most any HVAC controller or home automation device.

I would like to see a plugin for controlling the Ominstats as well. HAI thermostats are very popular amongst the HA community.

I am the user who is working on HAI support for HouseBot. My plugin supports the HAI thermostats but ONLY via an Omni controller. If you want to control the thermostats directly my plugin won't work for you.

Yeah. Bummer.

Scooped up some more DSC T-stats.... Now I just need a PC5401 communication module and someone to write some code
