ExternalControl Setup Guide?

Does anyone have a general setup guide for the ExternalControl web access plugin?

Checkout the online help for the External Control Device. It has a section for the COM Control Object that describes the setup in some detail. There's also a configuration sample (web_control.hbx) that is included with the plugin that provides sample ASP pages.

I didn't find anything in the "Guides and FAQ" area

From the HouseBot main menu, select Help/Plugin Help. Then scroll down to the External Control Device and hit the View Help button.

Hello

I have external control running on an IIS server but want to move to linux and Apache of security reasons. Is this possible? any apache plugin that i need to run the "asp-part"? if possible , is there any guide? is the protocol/format open/documented to talk to housebot external control plugin?

is there any problem to set up mutiple machines to talk to one housebot external control? ( running a webserver on 1 machine and a VB program on another, both talking to housebot on a 3rd machine)
