Spring clean (should of left it)

Post by PT »

Scottbot (or anyone)

First thanks for your help so far on other issues. It is good to have this sort of backup.

On my test machine I thought I would do some spring cleaning. of devices not used/duplicated etc.

Now have the following message:

re-assigning default property for device [girder bridge] why are there multiple defaults?

I ony have one girder.dll file

any ideas how to correct?

Each Device should have a single 'default' Property. The default property is the one that you see from some of the higher level lists that show the Device followed by a property and value. It's supposed to be the Property that best represents the state of the Device.

When the Girder Device is first created, it will create an "Event String" property and make it the default. Maybe something happened and it somehow created this property twice?

My advice would be to just delete the Device and create it again. Or if you know anything about databases and have MS Access, you could also do a manual fix-up by altering the database yourself.

Thanks looked in the database and found 2 ids for 2 devices which were indeed looking at girder and when deleted fixed the problem.

Odd it did not seem to mind when I first created these devices, which were only girder commands to to turn lights on/ off in the garden via an ip controller.

Still it did the trick, Thanks.
