homepro z-wave usb driver

Post by interruptvector »

Does anyone know the intended version of the usb driver that housebot should be using for the homepro z-wave usb interface? I'm thinking my polling issue could be related to this. Either that or it is a housebot issue, but other people have reported success with polling. My polling works fine when housebot is first booted up, but polling no longer occurs after housebot is running for 15 minutes. The only thing I can do to make it work again is to reboot housebot.

Any ideas?

My z-wave hardware for light switches are by intermatic, as well as homepro light switches.

thx

Here is a link to the latest (Dec 2005) version of the Driver at another forum where it was posted by ACT support.

I just installed this on my HB seteup and it works fine.

Excellent -- I just found this a couple days ago as well. I'm thinking this could solve the problem since the drivers I was using were very, very old!.. I'll post back to report how it went once I'm back home -- still on Christmas vacation at the moment!

Thanks again,

still an issue....

I replaced my old drivers with the latest one and I'm still having the polling problem... Perhaps it is some kind of hardware issue.. I think I will remove a bunch of the nodes and try each node one at a time to see whether the problem still happens or not... :(

hardware problem

i believe i have finally figured out the problem -- it appears to be an imcompatibility between my intermatic primary controller and the homepro usb controller (secondary)... after deleting nodes and changing them around -- i found that when settings are copied from the intermatic to the homepro usb, information is not transferred properly.. some of the channel numbers are changed (i.e. 5 becomes 7, for example).. i believe this is the root cause of the polling issues, etc as well.. i will try this again when i get a homepro primary controller -- and see if this resolves the issue (I need this anyhow since it allows for 64 channels instead of only 12 as in the intermatic case)..
