Hi, I am planning to have a dedicated Home automation pc and would like to connect this to a touchscreen monitor that i could run as a SW remote
Could someone please explain how i would run SW remote on the same pc that the server software is on ?

It's very simple:
Run the HBServer first, and then run the local software remote.
