Is there a way to have the Text to Speech device show when it is currently speaking, in order to disable the Voice Recognition device (or substitute an empty grammar file while the Text to speech device is talking)?
I have hooked a cordless phone up to my sound card by making this Chat-Cord. However the problem is that whatever is played on the speaker of the phone is also played into the mic port of the computer, making the task sometimes loop. For example, if I ask, "What is the time" the computer responds "The time is 1:02PM," but the Voice Recognition will hear this and restart the task, creating a loop.
I was wondering if there is some way to do this or have I overlooked anything as I have gotten it to work but crudely.
Thanks - John

A side note. I think it may be possible to do DTMF detection through the sound card rather than the modem like HomeSeer. I have found two programs so far that appear promising.
The first being WinTone (Shareware) - Which can execute files based on certain tones that are received.
The second being DTMF FFT - Which writes certain tones to an Excel File.
It can be found here - Link. It also has the source code available.
