Just upgraded to 3.30 and now, everytime I send a command from a SWremote on another machine I get a pop-up on the HB server asking which user account I want to use to run the program. whatever options I select it pops up again when the next command is received. I have installed using an account with admin privilages. Any thoughts?

Re: HouseBot 3.30 User 'Run As' Issue
What version of windows are you running?
Are you also running with admin privileges (it should be ok either way, but just checking).ceejm1 wrote:...I have installed using an account with admin privilages....

Re: HouseBot 3.30 User 'Run As' Issue
Hi Scott,
I am running XP Pro SP2. I installed the update from 2.31 under an account with full admin rights but had the issue described, so uninstalled and re-installed logged in as the actual administrator, problem remained.

Re: HouseBot 3.30 User 'Run As' Issue
Gosh. I've never even seen that dialog before.
I'm really confused as to which 'Program' it is asking to run. I wouldn't think it would be HouseBot, since it's already running under the same user account that accepted the socket to the remote (so there shouldn't be a security issue). Is the remote causing the server to run something using the External Control or script when it is getting these messages?

Re: HouseBot 3.30 User 'Run As' Issue
Pretty much everything that comes from the SWremote is passed on to Girder to control other equipment, so the girder interface is used extensively. When a message from a remote
is received the pop-up appears, once the pop-up is OK'd the message gets passed through to girder and is actioned. You've got me thinking that its maybe something on the outgoing side of housebot.... I've just been looking at the SWremote again, and while it logs in fine when started (without causing the popup) non of the inter-panel navigational controls work. Could there be some kind of port conflict?

Re: HouseBot 3.30 User 'Run As' Issue
I just tested (logged in as an admin) a sw remote changing the event string property of the girder bridge device that connects to girder V3 with a property change button. That particular configuration worked as I would have expected. There are many configuration variations, and I'm guessing that your setup is slightly different. What are you doing different and I will test it?
So you're saying that your Panel Change buttons don't work?ceejm1 wrote:... I've just been looking at the SWremote again, and while it logs in fine when started (without causing the popup) non of the inter-panel navigational controls work. Could there be some kind of port conflict?

See if this link is helpful. My office PC recnetly started doing this when I start FireFox. It may be a corrupted registry entry.
