RFXCOM device working great in Housebot

Post by wetwired »

I recently bought a RFXCOM receiver/transmitter from http://www.rfxcom.com/. The device with order code: 87005.
I´m using it to receive my X10 rf wall swithches, Nexa remotes and my ATI remote. The transmitter controls my Nexa lamp modules. The plugin for Housebot works great and the setup was really easy. If anyone has any questions I´ll do my best to respond.

Great to hear that things are working well with your RFXCOM.

The HouseBot plugins for the RFXCOM are still in beta. Anybody interested in testing the plugins, please email me at [email protected].

HouseBot has made a great improvement due to the added support for RFXCOM.
The most important of them are the receiving of whole house power usage meters, Oregon Scientific weather sensors and body weight scales, Visonic and
BT-VP1000 security sensors, Harrison electrical curtains, cheap European RF wall switches and control of cheap RF appliance and lamp modules, and many
others.

See some example screens with a few RFXCOM devices: http://www.rfxcom.com/housebot.htm

Transmitter:
433.92MHz RF transmitter to control:
- European X10 lighting sensors and remotes,
- European X10 security sensors,
- RTS10 / TLX1206,
- KlikAanKlikUit,
- NEXA,
- Proove,
- Domia Lite,
- ByeByeStandBy,
- ELRO AB600,
- HomeEasy UK (EU not yet supported).

There are 3 main receiver types:
310MHz RF receiver for US X10.
- US X10 lighting sensors and remotes,
- US X10 security sensors.

433.92MHz RF receiver for many protocols:
- European X10 lighting sensors and remotes,
- European X10 security sensors,
- Digimax,
- KlikAanKlikUit,
- NEXA,
- Proove,
- Domia Lite,
- ByeByeStandBy,
- ELRO AB600,
- RFXSensor devices,
- RFXPower & RFXMeter devices,
- Oregon Scientific weather sensors,
- Oregon Scientific Body Weight Scale,
- ATI Remote Wonder,
- HomeEasy UK (EU not yet supported),
- cent-a-meter, Electrisave, OWL.

Visonic / SecureLinc receivers for 3 different frequencies:
- 315MHz (US),
- 433.92MHz (mostly used in Spain),
- 868.95MHz (used in most EU countries)

RFXCOM Metering devices:
The RFXMeter is a base unit with an RF transmitter and 3 slots for RFXPwr - power metering modules and/or RFXPulse - pulse metering modules.
The US RFXMeter for a 2 phase power installation is available at: http://www.cheapertronics.com/products. ... gory_id=66
See http://www.rfxcom.com/sensors.htm for the complete list of RFXCOM sensors.

The RFXCOM.EXE support file is now available in the Downloads - Support files section at http://www.housebot.com/
The HouseBot 30 day trail version can also be downloaded from the Downloads page. Install HouseBot, run the rfxcom.exe file.
