I am checking out HouseBot using the 30day trial and so far I like what I see. I am having troubles with groups though.
I set up two Insteon Single Group Controller Devices to play with. They were set to group 2 and 5 of a 8 button keypadlinc. I
also setup a Insteon Switch Device to the keypadlinc to make sure HouseBot was communicating to the keypadlinc. The
Switch device works fine. Group 2 worked fine the first time I tried it, turning on button two of the keypadlinc and also
the devices it was linked to. When I turned off button 2 locally on the keypadlinc the HouseBot state didn't change. Looking
though the posts here I see that this is due to button 2 not being properly linked to my PLM. That's fine.
I next tried my group 5 device and found that even though the device address is the keypadlinc it is controlling group 5 on my PLM.
I deleted both group controller devices and re-created them. The keypadlinc group 5 is still controlling group 5 on my PLM
and the keypadlinc group 2 device does nothing now. It is probably trying to control group 2 on my PLM which doesn't exist.
So what am I doing wrong? Is this a problem with linking between the PLM and my keypadlinc?
Also I noticed in the Insteon Single Group Controller documentation that it states that "Currently the only group number that the PowerLinc
plugin can control is group number 1". I thought from posts that HouseBot could control keypadlinc buttons via links?
Thanks for any help.
Insteon Keypadlinc problem
Re: Insteon Keypadlinc problem
See the last post in this thread for some help. It's been a while since I sat down to get my KPL working, but I do recall it being a royal PITA.
