One more Playlist feature

Post by stu97jmp »

Just downloaded the new version of Housebot - There's lots of improvements over the previous version I had been using!

I was playing around with the WinAmp demo, and there's one thing that I think would really make it complete...

It would be great if the playlist could indicate the currently playing track (in the same way as is done in WinAmp's own Playlist window). By this, I mean that (using the External Playlist), when one track finishes and Housebot tells Winamp to play the next track, I think it would be good if the focus of the playlist moved to the next track - this would make playlist navigation easier, because you wouldn't have to find the currently-playing track in the list to find what the previous and next tracks are.

Also, is it possible to arrange that when I click on an item in the playlist, it immediately begins to play (without having to press Stop and Start to make this happen). I thought that it might be possible to sequence these up in an action, but the Playlist control only allows me to change a property value when it is triggered.

Would it be possible to set up a dummy control with a property, that when changed would trigger an action (I;m not at my computer right now, but I will try this later)

Thanks for any help!

Keep up the good work.

Last thing - I have currently got non-leviton X10 controllers in my house, and I an thinking that the Leviton ones sound a lot better, due to the 2-way communication and preset dimming. Does anybody know of a good supplier of such equipment in the UK? and will it work with my existing X10 controller (the Marmatek 4-way remote) if I want to just upgrade a few units at a time?

Thanks

James,

Having the playlist selection track the actively playing song would be nice, I agree. I'll add it to the list, but I may not have a chance to address it in the short term. There are other minor deficiencies in the solution (which you are discovering) that I would like to fix. I'm really wanting to enhance the WinAmp/Playlist Manager Devices into a more comprehensive Media Manager Device that will do so much more.
