Attached is a zip file with some gauges/sliders I have been working on. If there is something specific you want, let me know.

Each value indicator has 100, 50, and 20 pixel version. Each bar has a 500, 300, and 200 pixel-length version that can accomidate each of the 3 indicator sizes.

The transparent slider background trick worked fine. I built a bmp file that was as wide as the slider value image, put a "slot" in the middle of it, and made the areas on each side of the slot a transparent color.
