First I just want to say that all your hardwork in writing this program has so far given me many hours if not days of fun just playing around with it and I thank you very much. My wife on the other hand would like to see me come up from the basement one of these days. She doesn't seem to understand that it's much more fun to automate your Hometheater system than to actually use it for something silly like watching a movie. I told her that until I can go from watching Fox news with the TV tuned to channel 63 to watching a dvd in Surround sound by pressing a single button. I'm staying in the basement. If I she wants a divorce will you testify on my behalf as to why I can't give up my housebot and just turn the freaking TV on like everyone else? Anyway I am having a Software Remote problem. when I double click the SWremote.exe file to start up my remote from any PC on my network it seems to load and then all I see is the remote minimized to the taskbar. If I click it nothing happens. Any ideas?

Thanks

Rob,

I'll testify for you, but only if you testify for me also. Maybe our wives can start up some kind of therapy group for themselves. :wink:

The first thing that comes to mind with your SWRemote problem would be that maybe it is positioning itself off the the screen. Since the remote remembers its last position, it may have gotten confused and set itself outside of the viewable screen area.

First kill the SWRemote. Then start REGEDIT and navigate to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\CeBotics\Position key. Delete the X and Y values and restart the SWRemote.

If that fixes it, let me know what the values for X and Y were set to.

That was it. I can now see the Remote that I spent hours working on. Thanks again. The values were as follows.

X=0x0000000b9 (185)

Y=0x00000006e (110)
