These are still rough (hense the bad Transparency edges).
I'm looking for input while I'm developing them.
Select the "Meedio" photo album

If you remove the trailing period from the URL it works.
Cool graphics!

I need assistance in the "coding" and "binding" departments.
My partner and I are using Housebot to merge Crestron, Media Center 2K5, Lutron lighting, HVAC, Home Theater components, and touchscreens into one portable platform.
I've been having trouble with some of the plugins (TV and ExternalControl) and just need that push in the right direction.
Thanks.
If you have any need sfor interfaces and want to through a theme my way, I'd be happy to try and help. I'd need something like "BMW 6 Series" or "Circus Clowns". You get the picture. I can incorporate personal pictures as well. I am not charging anyone in the Meedio family because I want to help push this product where I can.

wouldn't crestron be all you need??

The Crestron input devices are outragiously expensive. They have an ActiveX component that supports Flash, but has some issues. I like this tool because it's simple to add interesting menu movement and flexible enough to expand into new devices using SDK's.
We want to take advantage to the backend intelligency for control. The frontend appliances (input devices) are where we see the major change.
Hope this helps...

I am a meedio fan but haven't looked into housebot much because of its lack of security support.
I did find this to be an interesting product.

Is there a Crestron part or hub that you use as the main hookup point for all of these systems?
The reason I ask is because I install systems also and am looking to get into some higher end functionality without the higher end prices.

Some background....
I do side work with a local Very High End Home Theater company that specializes in $250,000+ level home theaters. I help with Home Automation and architecting unique computer solutions. For most of these customers, the price is relative to their wealth. If you have $50,000 in the bank, buying a $3000 plasma TV doesn't seem "out of the ordinary". Let's add some zeros...
$50,000 = $3000
$5,000,000 = $300,000 (just added 2 zeros to each)
We are trying to find a package for the group somewhere in the middle. Although So. FL has many millionaires and business is REALLY good here, we'd like to create something more universal.
The unit we push in the lower end is the CP2E (around $1500). It has 8 I/O ports, 8 IR ports, 8 Relays, 3 RS-232 ports and 1 ethernet port. It has a built-in web server so you can create browser-based interfaces. There is an ActiveX compomemt you can use to bind Flash as well. I currently don't have time to develop Flash interfaces, so I'm focusing on Housebot right now.
One we are looking into at the moment is Aurora Multimedia. They sell a system very similar to Crestron at half the price. One of it's advantages over Crestron is expansion components. If you need more ports, add an expansion component. With Crestron, you buy an additional Crestron unit. They even sell the new web tablet that Crestron has been pushing for ALOT less. Here's the link...

(Look at the WACI NX+)
We are working on getting one and putting it through it's paces, so I'll keep you up-to-date. Keep in touch.

Sounds like a great idea.
How much do the Aurora Multimedia 15" touch screens cost?

I haven't prices any of their touchscreens. We are porting to simple web tablets and computers. The great thing about the WACI unit is you can use Flash, HTML, VB, Java, etc. to port out the interface.

I've been reading these forums for a while now, and today I decided to create and account and make some posts. I see I'm not the only one using the WACI around here...
I have used the WACI for several projects now and I have to admit that in terms of flexibility, it blows everything out of the water. There is a lot of sample code on Aurora's pages to help you get started with the programming. I decided to do all of my touchpanel interfaces with Flash, and after learning some basic actionscript I am able to put together some complex interfaces for all of the devices I am controlling
I can make the interfaces as complicated or as simple as the user requests, and I can quickly send them screenshots, or even the entire swf file to look at before any of the wiring is even run. This make the customer feel comfortable that the project is moving along, and it gives them something to look at until everything is finished.
Once I do a major project, I am able to easily copy and paste controls for different components into my new projects, making everything I create reusable.
The last major advantage to flash is that it is cross platform. I can design control pages that will work on Linux, Windows, Mac, Pocket PC, pretty much any platform that will run a webbrowser w/ flash.
I would definitely recommend trying the WACI on your next small project to see how you like using it. Aurora's support has been top notch, and they have a very good web board where the programmers can ask and answer questions.

The WACI NX+ does look pretty cool.
How much do they run?

AVGURU
Do you have any examples of your interfaces you'd like to share?
I'd like to see the direction your going in.
I may be able to provide some graphical components intrade for some programming.

Hi, Sorry to revive an old post but I am new to housebot and toying with keeping my MCE 2005 Install and using Housebot for control of this and X10 lights etc or switching to Meedio instead
I am really looking at how to control MCE 2005 from Hosebot at the moment (ideally with them both installed on the same pc although not essential) and wether its best to control with a "USB UIRT" or is there any better/different options (I would love something that can feedback info from MCE to the housebot softremote)
How did you finally get on with your set up ?
