Software remote hardware support

Please post to this thread with any specific hardware devices and OS that you have used with the Meedio HouseBot software remote and let us know whether it worked with no problems, worked with some problems, or did not run at all.

I'm using three ViewSonic ViewPad 100 web tablets. These run Windows CE 3.1 and they work great. I ran into a couple of resource related issues when my themes got *very* large so I had to crank the color depth on the ViewPad down to 256. But other than that they work great (although they are a bit slow to load - again due to the size of my theme).
I also have a WebDT DT380 tablet that I could never get to work. This one uses a Geode processor (not a supported processor). It runs CE .NET 4.1.

The only problem that I have is that the time (HH:MM) field disappears from time to time.

Here is my impression from the SIMPad, after a short usage:
For:
- Feels good at hand. It has the right size and it is light-weight
- Can be used for other things (I use it to read ebooks)
- The big plus over the AirPanel: you can use several SIMPads
Against:
- Low brightness
- The touchscreen is not as sensitive as the AirPanel
- Cradles are hard to find
- The WLan card is bulgy
- I was unable to display non-rectangular images correctly
Conclusion:
Have the AirPanel as the first display and when you need more wireless displays, buy the SIMPad

Not sure if this is the right thread for this....
Can a keyboard or remote (Firefly) be used with the software remote? I can only get the mouse to work.. dont plan to use any PDA,... ETC, just PCs and Meedio PC. Possible?

I have tried WinCE 4.2 .NET on both the BitsyX from Applied Data and the Sharp Zoom SDK from LogicPD. These would be great as the display is customizable and could be table-top or in-wall. Neither would even start the Software Remote.

I've been using the SW Remote with my Toshiba e740 CE 3.0, it works fantastic, I'll have to post some screen shots sometime. :lol:

ARMV4I processor 400 MHz PXA255
64 Mb RAM
Win CE.NET Version 4.20
Had to install the fakedlls package.

Also had to ensure no more than 13 panels used in SWRemote otherwise ran into resource issues.
