Problem getting tasks to execute

Scott,

I have a task that isn't executing when I would expect it to. I have it triggering based on the "Power State" property of an X-10 device. The power state is very likely to already be off when I send it an off again.

My X10 monitor device shows the value changing in the "Composite Property" property. The only thing I can think of is that the X-10 plugin might be overriding the same value checkbox (I have it checked). Can you confirm or deny this?

Plugins have no control over the Allow Same Value flag, except where they could manage their own properties in a way different from that setting. However, the X10 Devices are used so often in Tasks that this problem would have surfaced before now if that were the case.

If you look at the "Last Executed" time of the task (seen when looking at the main task property view), does it show that the task executed when the property value changed? Also, when looking at the depended tasks for the Power State property, do you see the task in question?

I know you're an experienced user, but just make sure that
  • The task is enabled (I know, I know...)
  • The execution mode is not set to manual
  • There isn't a mode causing it to be disabled
  • There aren't any other conditions in the Task to prevent the execution
