Scott,

Thanks for this unexpected update. Always nice to know that HB is still being updated very frequently with always good enhancements.

I tested all about I could and except for one thing all seems fine. Big thumbs up and Merry X-Mas!!

I enabled the 'Change While Dragging' option on all of my sliders, but had to change it back again since it turned out to be unworkable for all sliders I have in my theme. I use time sliders which calculate time through seconds using a script, temperature sliders and X10 Leviton sliders. All of them lag very much like you wrote a couple of posts ago, but what makes it unworkable for me is the fact that all of the values in between the first movement and releasing the slider are being processed. So if I drag my Leviton slider from 48 to 96 and take a few seconds to do that, it takes up to a minute for all values to process and it is very nervous on the lights itself. Same goes for my seconds timer slider. I went from 2 seconds up to 100 seconds and the slider was showing about 20 values from 2 to a 100 and it took more than a minute for the slider to finally reach 100. Not sure how this could work any better other than get it real time. Good thing this option can be deselected.
Also stange looking is the fact that the control part of the slider gets redrawn at another position when dragging because of the slow update.
So I will leave this option alone.

I like the option to click somewhere in the slider to make the control go to that position. That makes the slider control way more usefull!

Scott,

Can you tell me how to use the Control Mask Image?! I find no masks in the standard theme directories so I selected some other images, but nothing seems to happen. I also don't see a path to such a Mask image. Maybe I misunderstand what it is supposed to do.

I like the X10 Received Composite Property. I takes away the recursiveness that happens when X10 is controlled through an RF remote. Nice!

That new option is really for special cases and fast networks. The reason it was not in the prior versions is due to the fact that it can very well be a lot of data/messages to handle very quickly and a fair amount of data across the network. But if you can find a use for it, then great.

It's covered to some degree in the online help. I have a new skin that I will post in the next day or so that uses them so you can have samples.

Thanks for adding the change while drag- I'll try it in my theme next week when I get home. I'm processing on a time-slice basis in a script, so I think it will work for me.

thanks!

Please report back your results. If it works for you, I guess I need to spend some Euros to get a system upgrade.

Sorry Scott. Completely forgot to read the help. Will do that.

Does this point issue include the latest ocelot.dll and moduleparameterdevice.dll that were being used for "direct access" to the Ocelot and its subtending modules' params and variables? (I looked at these files and they are all issue 1.0.0.0.)

It has all the latest code, including the Ocelot plugins. I don't update the Windows version numbers, only the plugin versions that you see when loading HB.

Ok, I finally got back to the point of adding the slider. Doing a slow increment thing, since I was having lots of crashes last time.

Seems to works great for me!

I'm working with THC Jukebox- I have 800x600 screens, so I need to compress the interface. I use a slider to select between blocks of letters, 5 long. So my slider only has 6 positions, and it feeds into a script where I loop with a sleep 500. Doesn't seem to do anything to the CPU

My system is nothing special- an old 1.2G athlon with 512M memory. Later I'll be putting it on the volume control- that may be a more intense test. Right now I am very happy.

Thanks Scott!

Mardkd,

I'm using THC Jukebox on 800x600 too and have compressed the UI AND the keyboard to fit. If you want to go that route instead of your present plan, let me know and I'll post it. (Already have come to think of it - see this post: http://www.cebotics.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=856055)

I'm planning on using your keyboard. . . ;-)

I'm pretty much done with the squishing part of the main page- not pretty yet, but I have the functions I want about where I want them.

Thanks

Markd, now that you're done with your main panel, I can upload mine if you want to consider it. It has most of Incoronado's stuff, only smaller. I also created 2 additional panels: one for audio control (volume, mute, EQ), the other has cover art, volume and mute. The two added ones are pretty basic though; you could do better.

I only just now noticed the 3.02 release over the holidays. Alas it is true that I did not go anywhere close to a computer from Dec 21 until Jan 6!

I am assuming that the HB 3.02 release uses the older memory location (i.e. not 3.18) of the Ocelot executive/OS.

I only just got around to asking Appdig if the the ability to request memory locations for var and timer is still supported, and if so, what the command.

I'm also going to set up a poll to find out what Ocelot versions folks are using. I suspect for the most part it'll 3.18 since this incorporated the new DST change.
