Insteon 2414S

Is the 2414s supported? I'd mostly just be looking to use it as a 2412, ie send and receive X-10 and Insteon.
I haven't even looked yet- is it possible to add insteon devices and have them be controlled with insteon commands?

thanks

Cool, thanks. I have my eye on one to start my slow migration away from X10. ;-)

Unless you have a specific reason for going with the 2414 device, I would suggest using the PowerLinc Modem (http://www.smarthome.com/2412s.html). It's a tad cheaper, and provides a little bit better performance and stability. The 2414 requires that you run the "SmartHome Device Manager", which manages the communications. Whereas the 2412 allows HouseBot to communicate directly with the hardware.

Also, neither of these devices support X10 Leviton dimming.

The specific reason is that I know someone selling one for $15. ;-)

Any idea where I can get the Smarthome Device Manager? A quick search did not turn up a download. . . guess that could be a problem.

The X10 leviton dimming is the "jump to a specific value" right? I only use that on a couple of Insteon switches, so I should be able to change over and use the direct insteon commands there, I assume?

Thanks

It's actually included in the HouseBot setup, but you have to specifically select it when installing/reinstalling. There's probably a newer version online somewhere, but I did all of the development and testing with the version included in the setup.

Right. You can use the X10 Direct Dimming for switches that support it. If you don't have any Leviton switches, then it's not an issue for you.

Thanks Scott, sounds like I am good to go after a re-install. I need to get the latest version anyhow for the Theme re-import fix (thanks for that too, BTW) :D

My buy fell through. :(

My CM11a is getting sketchy (not working at all, as we speak :( :( ).

Is there a list somewhere of what hardware is supported? I need X-10 powerline and Insteon would be nice as I have a little of that too.

Thanks

If you want both X10 and Insteon in a single device, then your options are going to have to be the PLC (the one you were looking to buy) or the PLM (the one I would suggest).

Thanks Soctt- I was wondering if I was missing any. Have to decide how bad I want the Insteon as CM11a's are under $20 on ebay.
