Vista 64 Home Premium Problem + Work Around

I downloaded Housebot yesterday night as I'm about to begin automating certain functions of my house and this looks like a Program that will meet my needs. I run Windows Vista Premium 64 and noticed that when clicking on the program that it wouldn't run nor would it run when I tried running it as Administrator. Trying to run it in Compatability mode doesn't work either. After a bit more testing I found a work around.
Workaround:
Go to Start Menu----->Computer----->Properties----->Advanced System Settings (it's on the left hand side under tasks)----->Performance----->Data Execution Prevention----->Add-------> Now browse to where HouseBot Server is stored and click that. Now under DEP it should say Automation Server. Make sure to have DEP turned on for all Programs and Services except those I select.
