HB on Vista / Server 2008

I just recently upgraded my server to Windows Server 2008 (original, not R2). It is nearly identical to Vista in terms of its codebase, but contains added features and increased security.

After running the HouseBot installation, everything looked like it was working fine...
but, when I run the server executable, I get the error:
The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail.
After looking around online, some people suggest installing the Visual C++ runtime files, but when I attempt to do so, the installation aborts with an error.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I bought housebot not long ago, and I haven't really got a chance to even try it yet.

I've not heard of this issue with HouseBot. I would only suggest removing everything (HouseBot & the VC runtime), rebooting, then installing VC runtime then HouseBot.
