can anyone help me by leeting me know how to control my heating using Housebot that any hardwear and additional software

European users can use the HomeEasy HE105 and the RFXCOM transmitter to control the heating unit:

Another European option would be FS20.

One of the members " Edgar " uses the TRANE thermostat, in the Z-Wave version.

That is the set-up I would like to eventualy graduate to.

i may be thick but these answer give me a few probs...
1) the HomeEasy HE105 only controls the on-off of the heating not the room temp
2) i cant find anthing thing about the FS20 or the Trane thermostat used by Zwave

what i realy want is a room thermostat the replace the one on the wall so i can control the heating from housebot can onyone help

I use the thermostat from Proliphix (NT20e). It replaces your existing thermostat, but you will need to run CAT5e to the location to allow it to connect to your network. This was easy to do on my upstairs unit but impossible on the downstairs. To get my downstairs thermostat hooked up, I simply changed the location of the thermostat to where it was easy to drop both the thermostat control line as well as the CAT5e. I have written a plug-in for this thermostat for HouseBot as well, so it should be fairly easy to integrate.

You will need one of their power injectors to run power to the thermostat. Mine is installed in the attic in Texas and I have never had a problem with it.

I don't know which country you live but EU users can use the Digimax as thermostat with the RTS10 to switch the heating On/Off depending on the temperature measured by the Digimax.

To control the RTS10 from Housebot use the 433.92MHz RFXCOM transmitter.
To receive the Digimax in HouseBot use the 433.92MHz RFXCOM receiver. With this receiver you can receive alos Oregon Scientific sensors (temp/humidity/wind...) and use this also in HouseBot to control heating and cooling.

FS20 is available at Conrad. I think Richard is using the FS20 system in HouseBot.

I've used (4)Wayne-Dalton WDTC-20s, but find them none too robust; Two died apparently due to power spikes from the compressor relay; Solved by powering them w/separate wall warts; Another one died the same way, this time on the wall wart while I was running the house on a generator during a power failure. I replaced two of them with Trane TZEMT400AB32MAA's and I so far I am more pleased with them; The seem to work more reliably over z-wave, but the housebot z-wave communication stops over a period unless I kill and restart housebot daily.

My Valliant boiler has a Live, Switched Live and Neutral connections for switching on the heating. I have been able to connect it to an X10 Appliance Micromodule. Works really well. All the logic to switch the heating on/off depending on time and temperature is done via a task in housebot, and controlled via a software remote.
