Cant close HouseBotServer.exe...
file/exit or clicking x doesent stop Housebotserver.exe...
Running xp and latest HB...

this causing problem cos no restart of HB is possible... unless stopping process... and stopping process (i guess) will cause DB errors...

I've had this problem for quite some time. The only way I've found is to go into Process Explorer or Task Manager and kill the process. I've tried to get an explanation (several threads on it here somewhere) of the root cause but have never found or heard one that explained it. Fortunately, stopping/killing the process does not seem to harm the back-end database.

I also had the same problem for some time.
In my case it was caused by something in the ZWAVE hardware device, it kept communicating while HB was trying to shut down.

If I removed the Zwave USB after I tried shutting down HB, the process would finaly die.
Also, Disabling zwave right before shutting down Housebot did the trick.

Perhaps you have something similar?

I tried disabling all my devices, etc., one at a time but was never able to point to any one that was the cause. I just live with it. I probably should chase it again though...
