I have my PLM on COM12 and Insteon Explorer works with it. It is a hardware COM port though not a USB<->Serial so that may be your problem.

Re: HouseBot iPhone App Now On Sale in iPhone App Store
Kyle,
That looks like a good start. Unless I am missing something all it can do at this point is to start a task already defined in HouseBot. Any plans on extending the functionality?

Re: To Insteon or not to Insteon...
If you have a PLM not a PLC then you should take a look at Insteon Explorer http://www.forefronttechnologiesinc.com/InsteonExplorer/ . I have my PLM on order so I can't tell you if Insteon Explorer works or not. I have about 10 switches in my setup with only one having a problem. Up until this time ...

Re: Repeating Playlist
Scott,
Strange but it seems to be working now and the only thing I have done is to restart HB a number of times (Unrelated to this task problem).

Re: Repeating Playlist
Scott, I don't doubt that it should work, you are the foremost expert on HB so I'm sure I just don't have something setup right. I tried it again and the last executed time didn't change and the task didn't fire. My task has: if ('Music On Hold.Play List Song Number' is Equal '0') Then Delaying for ...

Re: Repeating Playlist
Scott, Thanks for the help. I created the task but it doesn't seem to fire. I do have it enabled and the execution mode is set to "when conditions are met". If I fire it off manually then it works but if I play the last song in the playlist it doesn't fire off when the PlaylistSongNumber g...

Repeating Playlist
I have setup a Playlist Device and a WinAmp device and it plays through the playlist just fine but what I want to do is to make it repeat once it gets to the end. I don't know if there is a property for that but I can't find it. I have tried a bit at making a task that would start winamp playing aga...

Re: SageTV
I wanted to make sure I had enough space to hold me over for a while :) I don't know how you would use Sage to set recording times on the DVR but you can get Sage to send IR commands to tune the channel and then record the show through Sage. I have created a tuner DLL for Sage to send commands throu...

Re: SageTV
Scott, You can't take HDMI directly into a PC because of the HDCP content protection. But you can use component out and the new HD PVR http://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/data_hdpvr.html . Not being able to get HD into the PC or back out to a TV easily is what has been keeping me from really usin...

Re: External Control Locking HB
Scott,
I enabled the "Client and Client Socket" and the "Server Socket" items in the Tracing dialog but nothing new showed up in the log. Is the "TCP Server" a different option?

External Control Locking HB
Scott, I am using an External Control device in ASCII mode and if I send commands to it too quickly it will end up locking up HB. It looks like it gets stuck in a loop logging "External Control ASCII Request received from client connection [1]" over and over again. Sometimes I can shutdown...
