Hi

Thinking of using HouseBot to control my Home Cinema....

Mostly RS232 with one I/R

What do you guys recomend for hardware and operating system

I am putting togeter a PC for the purpose, would a full ATX or mini ATX

It is going out of sight so looks arn't a problem

Also want to go WiFi so would of the Dell's be suitable as the remote....

The big question is how many rs-232 ports you are going to need. Most mini-ATX and some of the regular ATX motherboards only have 1 serial port. If you need more than that, then ATX is a must. I have not seen add-on serial boards for the low height mini-ATX case form factor. At this point as far as OS, I would suggest either W2K or XP. HB does run on W98SE currently but I would expect that the next version will probably require at least W2K if you want to be able to support the Meedio Essentials plugin.
