Winamp Question/Problem

Post by Circe640 »

According to help

Play List Song Number

When using a Playlist, this value indicates the current song number (index) that is playing. Valid values range from 0 to one less than the number of tracks/songs in the playlist. This property can be used to jump directly to a track in a playlist.

Changing this value in Housebot does not appear to cause Winamp to move to the new song number

Scott Can you verify that this still works as described above with the more recent versions of Winamp.

The WinAmp.Play List Song Number property works for me.

I was using Windamp Pro 5.03 but upgraded to the latest 5.09 and it still works.

I use it in Software Remotes in 2 ways.

One is with a Next Track or Previous Track button that does a Property Change to WinAmp.Play List Song Number. New value = +=1 or -=1

The other way is with a Slider component for the same property which I set to a valid range of 0 to 20. This can then be dragged left to right to move the track position.

Of course it could be just used as a Property Edit component and the user could just type the track number in.

Jim had posted that question after I asked him the same question in the process of installing Jukebot. I created two button cotrols; one to increment the track counter, the other to decrement it. I used the +=1 and -=1 format to set the values. What I found is that the buttons and values do affect the Winamp device variable value, but Winamp doesn't respond to it. In fact one can manully set the value in the Winamp device and it still doesnt work. At least not here.

Definitely works a treat here although I spent a lot of time initially getting the Jukebot, Winamp, PlayMgr combination working well. Can't remeber what I changed but I am happy to work through my settings with you via Windows Messenger at dshot_1962 @hotmail.com

derek, thanks for the reply. I too have spent a lot of time getting it all to work, and am not there yet. Some of the problems were self induced - Typos, etc . Will keep working with it. That is just one of several issues I'm working on. I've been fooling with it on/off for more than a year, and finally got Jukebot basically functional - no fault of Jim's. Just a lot of different things. I figure I'll get it all working then Meedio will roll out their version of Housebot/Jukebot/Essentials and I'll get to start over.
