Hello,
sorry, when I am wrong on this board. I am not sure, where I must ask my question.
I only want turn on and of a light over the internet. Is this possible with housbot? So, can I add a tool or applet or anything on the webpage, so everyone can turn on and of a light? Its for a webcam, so in the night I want, that the User can control the light in the room, and after a time, the light goes off automaticly.
And the second question. Here in germany all these stuff isnt realy known. Can anybody tell me, what other stuff I must buy (and where I can buy this), for control one or two lights? Thats would hel much :)
thanks a lot
Michael

Check the HouseBot help file for "COM Control DLL". This is an ActiveX that can be used to control HouseBot via a webpage.
Can't help you with where to find stuff in Germany. Hopefully some other list member can help you on that. X10 is the easiest/most popular method to do home automation.

Thanks Scott,
I will look into the help file
about the stuff - I can also order the items I must have in US or GB - so the most can send via mailorders. I mean - what hardware I must buy, for control lights. I found on x10.com these thing:
http://www.x10.com/products/x10_lm15a.htm
this is for the lights I think, but, do I need more hardware? Something between the lights and the computer?
Greetings
Michael

Beware that you may need different equipment for 110 V (like the US stuff) and 220 V (like in most of Europe). Unless things have changed X10.com only supplies 110 V versions which is useless here in Europe. The prices for 220 V X10 equipment i quite different, a lot higher :-( Apparently the manufacturers aren't interested in volume sales at all.
Yes, you need a "bridge" from the PC to the X10 devices. There are a few different methods to do this. I use the "PowerLinc USB" x10 controller. There is also the CM11A and X10 FireCracker. I do believe there are others as well. You just need to make sure that HouseBot supports it.
Here are a couple of links that will point you in the right direction:

Google search for x10 220v

Hello - and thanks for your help.
I have now some hardware, the CM11G USB Controller, AM12G Appliance module and LM12G Lamp Module, all working fine with 230V.
But, my problem is - how can I turn the light now on and off over the internet? I tryed to look here:
But I dont found anything in the help file about COM Control DLL and/or an activ X applet. Can you tell me, where in the help file I can find anything about this?
Thanks a lot
Michael

Back in August you answered a question on the following link
http://meedio.com/forum/ntopic24806.htm ... f03841bacd
My name is Steve Cook and I manage http://www.nannycam.net Is it possible to connect a lamp to an X10 light module and finally to a pc. Then I want to be able to insert software into a webpage on my website to allow anyone visiting the webpage to turn on/off the lamp with just a click of a mouse.
I do not want to have to write the software that needs to be inserted into a webpage, but just have to insert code from X10 into the website's webpage. Can it be done without having to go and login to x10's webpage at http://myhouse.x10.com/
