transparent background

I'm having an issue with the transparent background on fonts feature not working correctly. I'm using MCE. When changing property values with the transparent background option selected fonts disappear at random times. If I uncheck that box it works fine. Picking another font has no effect. Exact same theme and same swremote version works on another computer. I think it is a MCE issue, but I've been unable to figure out what is causing this. Has anyone else seen this problem and know how to solve it?
