Hey guys,
Just new here but thinking of going with Housebot as part of an install I am doing. Im starting to like Housebot for the feature set although I'm still on the learning curve!
Either way, down to the question.
I have been through the other posts here regarding having multiple instances of the Remote Software running on the server each directed to its specific touchscreen, which is obviously far more efficient etc for certain applications.
The problem I have is with the distance that a touchscreen may be from the server. i.e. VGA requires pretty pricey extenders/amplifiers once you go over approx 20 feet. USB is much easier extended.
Ive come across these units from NComputing
( http://www.ncomputing.com/ncomputing/pr ... .php#_self )
from working on another project and I am thinking would it be possible run an instance of the SW Remote over these. The touchscreen is connected via the VGA and USB to the L230 which in turn is connected to the Server via a IP switch......
Some may say its over kill but these units are much cheaper than any vga-cat5-vga extenders! (of which two are required as opposed to 1 x L230). The L130 (I think it is) could be used if the USB isnt required at remote end!
Would really like to know what you guys think! Great forum!
Rob
Damn just read it up and realised that the USB seems to be for flash memory devices only! Theres *'s whereever it mentions that USB.
Seems the guys here ( http://touchtronix.com/products/iptouch-121.html ) worked around it though!
Looks like its back to extenders!!

I would check there forum for info on this. Last I had looked they had discussed adding support for ELO touchscreens. This post is from someone who had successfully used an ELO with an L200:
