I moved my Housebot system yesterday to the basement so I could also use the same PC for my new cyber-rain sprinkler system. After I moved it nothing seemed to work. I would click on an Insteon device and ask for new status and it would eventually time out. Nothing was being controlled. So I assumed it was the 2412 Insteon controller or my Insteon access points and I was working to resolve it. Eventually I figured out it was the HouseBot software configuration and somehow the Insteon Hardware Controller in HouseBot was set to Disabled. I did not change this setting but somehow through my reboots and PC move this setting was changed. Once I set it to enabled everything worked again.
1). Do you know what might cause the software to automatically change this setting from enabled to disabled?
2). I would like to put in the Startup task the ability to force this setting to enabled. Unfortunately this was not an action I could program with the native software commands. (It may be possible with VB I'm guessing.) Could you add this to the wish list to be able to execute setting changes for Hardware Device Controllers in Startup?
Thanks.

Insteon Hardware Device Problem
Re: Insteon Hardware Device Problem
. If a hardware interface fails to initialize, it will set itself to disabled. It will remain disabled until it is manually enabled again.dorrsr wrote:Do you know what might cause the software to automatically change this setting from enabled to disabled?
