I’m looking to create as minimal a footprint and cost for an HB server.
This would be a totally dedicated machine, sitting in an equipment room or in an A/V rack.
Administration would be done via remote desktop, so no local display required.
I figure something along the lines of a desktop eePC would do, but is there something even more minimal (like WinCE based) that might do?
Only HW requirement is to have one free USB port and built-in Networking (Wifi or physical)
Trying to find something that will require the least administration once configured.
Basically, can we define the ideal platform to create an HB appliance?

A couple of us are running HB on HP thin clients with XP embedded. Mine is a T5720 that I got from ebay for $145. It's a 1GHz, 1GB RAM and 1GB flash drive with XPE. After installing HouseBot, winamp, and other misc items, I still have about 200 MB free. It's fanless and completely silent with no moving parts and works extremely well.
