Weather.com Plug-in
PLEASE NOTE Weather.com have started charging (A lot!!) for use of the xml feed, so this project has been abandoned and I am now using http://worldweatheronlinehb.codeplex.com
Jump to this post for more information: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=856444&start=45#p451809
This plug-in will parse the weather.com xml feed and display it in HouseBot .
Requires c# wrapper to work.
PLEASE BACKUP HOUSEBOT BEFORE INSTALLING, Just to be safe. I have been running this now for about a month.
To install you will need to...
1) Copy the weather.dll in the plug-ins folder.
2) Copy HBDotNetBridge.dll into the \housebot\plugins\devices folder
3) Copy HBDotNet.dll into the \housebot folder
The HBDotNetBridge.dll and HBDotNet.dll can be found in this post: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=856395
Source code can be found here: http://weatherplugin.codeplex.com/
Any probs let me know.
Cheers,
Al

Re: Weather.com Plug-in
Added software remote that is displayed in the first post.
Please make sure you do not have a device called Weather before importing.
If the remote does not display the images, just open the remote to edit, then save. Not sure why, but this fixes it.

Re: Weather.com Plug-in
I get my weather info a different way into HouseBot, but I love the weather icons used! I will change my set to this one. Thanks for sharing.

Re: Weather.com Plug-in
I just installed the Weather.com plugin and I modified the LOCATION NAME to read Cerritos, CA. The OBSERVATION STATION NAME changed automatically to Fullerton, CA. I let it run for a while and it updated the information. I went over to WEATHER.COM to verify the changes and I see different results. Example: Current Temp shows 80F whereas WEATHER.COM shows 73F, Moon Cycle for tonight shows FULL (which is correct) but the ICON is (14.png) cloudly with snow, Wednesday shows Partly Cloudy (correct reading) but the icon is (29.png) showing the moon with clouds. The Last Updated field does not seem to change. Not sure what is going on here. I have attached a screen shot of the SWREMOTE and the LOG. I like the plug-in and would like to use it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Kirt

Re: Weather.com Plug-in
See if you have an Imported devices folder in the list. Unless otherwise specified, new imports will go there.

Re: Weather.com Plug-in
I got an email from TWC yesterday - since I am running the Weather.Com XML feed/HB plug-in described above - saying that they are cancelling the XML offer as of 10/31. Need to find another source for weather data that can be imported into HB.

Re: Weather.com Plug-in
Meedio Weather is still running fine.
Meedio 1.41 = Free
Service runs weather importers
DBase = SQLII
Interfaced in HouseBot using an sqlite2 com object, a script, null device and a task to update the weather data every 10 minutes (much like your jukebox)

Re: Weather.com Plug-in
I'm not clear on where the actual weather data (current, forecast) come(s) from? I can get radar and sat images from NOAA or other but to get the forecast and current data in a HB friendly readable (XML, CSV or whatever)... Sounds like one has to be running Meedio (or at least a Meedio plug-in) in the background.

Re: Weather.com Plug-in
Correct. You need Meedio installed to get the Weather Data and have the Meedio Service run in the background to handle the importers. You can search for other options or maybe even write your own scraper. Not sure.. however Meedio is still running so that could be a last resort.

Re: Weather.com Plug-in
Thought so. Read a little on the Meedio site. I don't want the weather report that badly. Thanks though.
