I'm not technically far enough along to understand this, but will something like this app be developable for HouseBot? Or are the technologies too different?

HouseBot doesn't have a native iPhone/touch/pad client so there isn't a direct comparison. You can however follow the guidelines I posted here viewtopic.php?f=6&t=856513 to view HouseBot through a Remote Desktop Session on your iPhone/Touch and it should work equally well on an iPad. I had toyed with writing a SWRemote for the iDevices but to be honest, the solution above works so well that I haven't thought about it anymore.
