I have been playing with Meedio since it has become available and as I result, as long as HouseBot (Meedio HouseBot) will continue to support HouseBot plugins, then I will continue with the two plugins JukeBot and MoviePro as long as I can, even though it is now a commercial product.
My reason for this is simply that in its current state Meedio does not support a group of people who have needs like myself.
For music I have
1) structured directories <my music>\<Genre>\<artist>\<album>
2) I do not use .MP3 at all -- the quality sucks, all my CD's are either in .APE or native .CDA format (no IDx tags)
3) I use HouseBot mirror functions so the Winamp player is actually running on a different computer that the main HouseBot computer.
4) I use an external DVD application (TheaterTek) that also runs on the
remote computer.
5) Although it seems complicated at first, the HouseBot theme builder is significantly easier to use than building XML for Meedio.
6) Since Meedio is on a database, I will try to look at it to see if I can incorporate the data from that database in parallel with the JukeBot or MovePro databases to provide access to both worlds from within HouseBot
(If they will let me!)
