Home theater automation

Post by Costas »

Ok this is what I'd like to do and I know nothing about it:

With meedio housebot what kind of "hardware parts" do I need to run a hypothetical macro such as:

Turn on projector

Turn on Amplifier

Pull down the projector motorized screen

Start the HTPC

To turn off the lights

I live in Europe so if anyone has any suggestions for european stores (220 V electricity) it would be highly appreciated.

Part of the answer depends on your equipment. If your amp and projector sit in a 'standby' mode and are turned on via remote controls, then you need an IR device (powerlinc, usb-irt, etc) to emulate the IR control. Other devices that are powered off and on only are controlled by X10 or similar power line controllable switches. I believe there is a 220V version of x10 in Europe
