Checking for new mail using the POP3 Email Device?

I´d like Housebot to check for new emails arriving to my pop3 account. How do I set this up using the POP3 Email Device?
I have gotten the device to retrieve my emails but this is overkill for my purpose, I only want to have a property that says "new emails" and populate a list with the senders and subjects.

Unfortunately the POP3 Device doesn't really know the difference between new and old emails.
