Housebot initialization problem

After installation, the housebot program starts, but i get a message "ip server failed"

What's this"?

What OS and version are you running?

It's probably another application running that has already taken the IP port that HouseBot is trying to bind to for the Software Remote connections (Port 5009).

If this is the case, there is a way to change the port number through a registry setting.

The operating system is windows XP and the errror is 10048

I have mcafee antivirus 8.0, windows firewall on, ....

what is the registry entry?

any other action i should take?

I saw this same error when I had the Application Layer Gateway Service running. After I disabled the service (I didn't need it), HouseBot started without the error.

If you want to change the port that HouseBot uses for Software Remote connections, search for Software Remote Connection Port in the HouseBot online help. it will give you the step-by-step. Be sure to change it on each Software Remote machine also.
